And so it’s here, after months and months of meticulous planning and scheming the inaugural Mr Kyps Upbeat Festival at Upton Country Park is finally upon us…

It’s a tribute band overload on Saturday, with all the Mr Kyps favourites you know and love, including: ZZ Tops; Fleetwood Bac; T-Rextasy; Kastoff Kinks, plus the wonderful No Jacket Required headlining the Mr Kyps stage!

Sunday is all about original music, and have we got a treat lined up for you! Rockabilly sensation Imelda May will be on headlining duty to round off the evening, with top acts such as Sandi Thom, Toploader, Ben Montague and Jon Allen, plus loads more making Sunday’s line-up one of the best of the summer!

Monday afternoon at Upbeat Festival kicks off with Dorset’s own Souled Out, while Rat Race will have you skanking all the way to the front of the stage. Sergeant Peppers’ll be playing everything you want to hear from a Beatles tribute act, and Rollin’ Stoned will make you feel like it’s Hyde Park in 1969 all over again, rounding off the first Upbeat at Upton Festival in sun drenched style.

Also, in association with the release of Imelda May’s new album ‘More Mayhem’, we have been given 50 Early Bird (£35) weekend tickets to get rid of in the run-up to the festival. If you head over to www.upbeatfestival.co.uk, click the button at the top to buy tickets, select ’3 Day Pass’ and input the promo code ‘imelda’ at the bottom of the page. This is strictly on a first-come first-served basis so don’t be disappointed if they’re gone when you try, and good luck!

Of course, just because we’re running a music festival doesn’t mean we’re neglecting Mr Kyps. Friday night is a very special night for a very special friend. A.B., one of our colleagues who had been with us from the beginning, sadly passed away a year ago to the day on Friday. All of us at Mr Kyps are very proud to bring A.B’s favourite band, Sgt Pepper’s Only Dartboard Band, and although this is a free event we are expecting a massive turnout. info@mrkyps.net
