BCP Council, with support from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, is excited to back a new program that helps folks in our community start their own businesses. If you're interested in becoming your own boss, this program is for you! It's called Ignite, and it's run by David Mutton from Evolve, a local company in Poole. Since it started last year at Bournemouth University and Arts University Bournemouth, Ignite has helped lots of people like you launch their own businesses.
The program will happen at a cool place called FOUNDRY in Poole. During the program, you'll learn all the important stuff about starting a business, like coming up with ideas, making a plan to tell people about your business, finding money to get started, and more. Plus, you can have a one-on-one chat with the course leader for free. And here's some good news: once you finish the program and meet all the requirements, you can get a £250 grant from BCP Council to help with your startup costs. But remember, you have to go to all the sessions and the one-on-one chat to get the grant.
FOUNDRY is also giving a free pass for a day between sessions.
That means you can try out their space and focus on making your business plan.
Here are the dates for the program:
- June 7th from 9am to 1pm
- June 14th from 9am to 3pm
Here's where FOUNDRY is:
1st and 2nd Floors Brownsea House, Dolphin Centre, Poole, BH15 1SP
Who can join?
Before you sign up, make sure you meet these requirements:
- You live in the BCP Council area and can start a business in the UK.
- You'll come to all the workshops and the one-on-one chat.
- You haven't started a business yet and don't have a UTR number.
