Poole and Purbeck Soroptimists have received £220 raised by staff at Tesco Fleetsbridge on International Women's Day to further their work to support women and girls, locally, nationally and internationally.
Soroptimism is an international organisation for women with clubs in nearly 200 countries which helps women and girls. The Poole and Purbeck club welcomes new members to help them in their projects. This year's projects include helping victims of domestic abuse and human trafficking, supporting local young care leavers, and enabling women in the developing world to earn their own living and move out of poverty. See sigbi.org/poole for more information.
This donation from the staff at Tesco will go a long way in helping so many women in need. Well done everyone at Tesco Fleetsbridge! Tesco also very kindly donated bunches of daffodils which the Soroptimists took to the children currently living in Poole Refuge for their Mums on Mothers Day.
