You don't need any baking experience for this class, and it is ideal for beginners or those who would like to expand their range of baking. From learning how to make hot cross buns to semla, you will also learn general baking skills which you can apply to other bakes including enriching, kneading, proving and shaping.
Hot cross buns – soft & sweet with plump vine fruit, traditional fragrant spices and a sticky glaze.
Babka - an enriched bread dough made in a loaf tin with a variety of sweet fillings like cinnamon, chocolate and fruit.
Semla - traditionally served in Sweden between Christmas and Easter, these fragrant cardamom-flavoured buns are filled with a rich almond paste and whipped vanilla cream.
You will also learn general baking skills which you can apply to other bakes including enriching, kneading, proving and shaping. At the end of the day and you will go away with hands full of Easter treats to share with friends and family and have the skills and knowledge to make them all over again at home.
Of course no visit to The Riverford Field Kitchen would be complete without a seasonal lunch prepared by our chefs.
